In “A Texas Private School is Using AI Technology to Teach Core Subjects” author Ariana Garcia stresses the unprecedented embrace by the school of using AI to teach students. Throughout the article, the author supports the argument by citing other schools in Texas that want to embrace AI, like “Grapevine-Colleyville ISD in North Texas” (Garcia 1). Although the author uses well-executed appeals like ethos and pathos, it lacks both statistics and data and doesn’t address the opposing point of the negative effects it will produce. Stakeholders in the article include the quality of education, accessibility of technology, and the ethical impact on teacher’s jobs. Mentioned stakeholders in the article are the students who are directly affected by AI learning, the diminished role of teacher’s impact in classrooms, and the privilege of school administrators who make the decisions on AI. Unmentioned stakeholders in this issue are the parents with their stake in their child’s education, and AI developers. The weakness of the article comes from the failure to mention the ethics and impact of this decision on the workforce.
