In “Margaret Knight: Paper Bag Machine Inventor '' The author claims that Margreat Knight's actions helped lead the way for women today and proved that if anyone put their mind to it they can succeed . Margaret Knight was able to lead the way for women today because of how determined she was to create machines , make machines safe and how she fought for her invention when someone stole her idea and published it as their own. By doing this she showed that women too can understand machinery and its works and that we can fight for our ideas and mechanics rather than just fight for dolls. Margreate Knight was born in 1838 but she was different from the other girls she didn’t like to sew , cook or play with dolls she liked to build machines but she was in a time where everyone thought that women were not supposed to understand machinery and how it worked but she was able to prove them wrong. Knight at the age of 18 worked at Columbia Paper Bag Company but the flaw was that the paper bags the company made did not make flat bottoms bags so the bags were glued together like an envelope. So after a short period of time working at the paper company Knight decided to try to build a machine that would make flat bottomed paper bags.
