Nick Carraway, moves to East Coast Manhattan where he rents a home in West Egg. Nick is reconnected with his cousin Daisy, her husband Tom, and Jordan Baker in East Egg. Later, Nick to meet Tom’s mistress, Myrtle Wilson. Tom, Nick, and Myrtle go at a party that closes with Tom punching Myrtle in the face. Nick meets his next-door neighbor, Jay Gatsby, a very rich man who lives in a giant mansion and hosts lavish parties every week. Gatsby introduces Nick to his business partner, Meyer Wolfshiem.Nick becomes acquainted with Jordan and learns that Gatsby and Daisy were past lovers, and that Gatsby would like to reunite with Daisy. Nick plans an invitation for Daisy to a tea party so that Gatsby can meet with Daisy.
