The case Wickard v. Filburn had the constitutional question of whether the US Government had power to regulate production of agricultural goods if those goods were intended for consumption and whether the national government had the authority to regulate trivial intrastate economic activities even if goods were not intended for interstate commerce. The court’s decision was that Congress is allowed to use its Commerce Power to regulate or prohibit activities related to economic effects of such activities are
Since the early 19th century case of Gibbons v. Ogden, Congress’ ability to regulate commerce under the Commerce Clause has rapidly expanded. What began as the power to control trade between two states soon extended to transportation, production of goods shipped between states, and eventually to activity with a substantial influence on commerce. In the latter half of the 20th century, the Supreme Court finally began to restrict the extent of the Commerce Clause with the cases of U.S. v. Lopez, U.S. v. Morrison, and later NFIB v. Sebelius. After the trend of lessening the power of the Commerce Clause, Congress does not have a Constitutional basis to enact the Beat the Flu Act. While some may equate the case to Wickard v. Weismann argued Bakeshop Act violated the” Constitution’s protected of the liberty of contract, or an employer right to make a contract with his employee free from governmental interference,” (Nourse 2009). He also argued it was wrong “the treasured freedom of the individual should be swept away under the guide of the police power of the state,” (Nourse 2009). Also, the regulations violated the 14th Amendment due process Clause. Lochner won his case in the Supreme Court 5-4 decision that Bakeshop Act was indeed unconstitutional because it did not exercise state police powers. In my opinion, the Court agreed Bakeshop Act interfered with the right of contract between employers and employee and that “the general right to make a contract in relation to his business is part of the liberty of the individual protected by the Fourteenth Amendment of the Federal Constitution,” (Nourse 2009).
In 2012, the United States Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act (ACA) under Congress’ taxation power, but deemed it unconstitutional under the Commerce Clause, which is in Article 1, Section 8, Clause 3 of the United States Constitution. The conservative Chief Justice Roberts wrote the opinion of the Court in this decision known as the National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius, claiming that Congress can only regulate existing articles, and cannot create new articles to be regulated. His opinion was met with criticism, with commentators suggesting that he had betrayed the conservative agenda. In agreement with the commentators, not only did Roberts betray the political conservative agenda, he also damaged his own conservative

While the story is told from a feminist perspective in a period where women were their husband's property. It also explores the challenges the males experienced and how they manage life circumstances. There are many representations of birds with dual symbolism as it relates to the female characters of the story that is quickly evidenced. The parrot, mockingbird, pigeon house and the broken winged bird all symbolizes the struggles, the victories and ultimate expiration of life.
How have I developed as a writer this semester? (Or not?) Through the semester I developed a way of strengthening my essay, by identifying and removing unnecessary words. I also learned how to add depth to my essays by having a story within a story, and carry it throughout the writing.
The New Chicken or Egg: Discovery of AI or mind The question of whether digital computers are capable of thinking is fundamentally important given the rise of AI (Artificial Intelligence). For decades now, the dialogue has been going back and forth without any definitive answers on how we should form our attitudes on this question. This is greatly due to the fact that science gives little answers to how the mind is structured and how it functions. Strong AI is intended to be not merely a tool used in discovery of the mind, but a simulation of the actual mind for direct study that sheds light on the questions unanswered through other means of science.
According to C. F. R Title 47 §8.1, the purpose of the regulation is
Evolution of a Chicken The theory of evolution is one of the greatest intellectual revolutions of in human history, changing our perception of the world forever. Charles Darwin put forward the theory of evolution and a great body of evidence to support his theory. In Darwin's time, most scientists believed that each organism’s adaptations was the work of the creator. Carl Linnaeus, a Swedish botanist, zoologist and physician, established the system of biological classification that we use today.
The three most common ways to raise poultry are in cages, cage-free aviaries and enriched colonies. The benefits and down-sides to these systems are commonly misunderstood.
