Lee Fredericks Strategic Management – C209 Nate Sexton June 18, 2024 C209 – Task 1 A1 Creating an effective vision, mission and values statements are extremely important to the formation of a company’s overall strategy. A vision statement is the source of a company’s long term and future goals, which outlines what the company aims to achieve and how it plans to attain these goals. By providing a clear guideline, the vision statement shows management and stakeholders which actions are needed to fulfill the company’s overarching goals. In contrast, the mission statement defines the company’s current purpose and fundamental activities. It shows why the company exists by highlighting the core functions and clarifying priorities.
Businesses can differ greatly in the services they offer or Goods they sell. One thing that all businesses have in common is that they have a mission or vision statement that they use to define themselves and what they are about. The Arrow Head Medical Center in Colton, California has a mission statement that is not strong, is very generic, and for the reasons is probably why it is not displayed anywhere on their website. To give them a stronger identity to the community, and more tangible goal to reach for internally, it is necessary to create a new mission statement for this organization. The most recent mission statement for the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center I coul find was located on a 2012-2013 strategic plan.
Creating Vision Organization’s Mission and Stakeholders The mission of HonorHealth hospitals states, ‘To improve the health and well-being of those we serve’ (HonorHealth, n.d.). The promise brand shows that HonorHealth is making healthy personal. HonorHealth has merged with several hospitals in the Phoenix area. The brand of promise will help unify mission’s common goal, and guide the deliverance on the promise every day (HonorHealth, n.d.).
The mission and vision statement option I chose is option 2: To improve health by providing high-quality care. Vision: Provide the broadest range of services in the county. I think this statement best fit because they want to provide high quality care and also comprehensive range of services. Their vision is to create a large range of services. Option 2 covers what Stevens District Hospital mission and vision is but it also shortens up the verbiage.
My chosen leader for this assignment was my former director of the organization I currently work at, Pennyrile District Health Department, Jim Tolley. He had a vision of a big plan, and the future of not only the organization, but the communities that we serve. According to the requirements of an effective vision, I believe he was a leader to help the organization see and work towards the vision. Four requirements of a effective vision are: establish direction and mobilize the organization, communication, detail on employees part of the vision, and uplifting and inspiring (Manning & Curtis, 2008).
Their mission will guide them to make more informed choices about what they fund, give support to, and why they started their organization. Their vision statement
And in everything we do, we strive for honesty, fairness and integrity” (PepsiCo, 2014). PepsiCo vision statement Vision statement describes the firm’s customers, products, markets, concern for
Under that mission statement, when you scroll down you will find information to back up what they said. Which is the tabs, "Our story", "Diversity", "Corporate Responsibility" and "Leadership". When clicking each of those tabs, it gives you more detailed information about you who they are, the reason for their business and who they want to help. The next tab at the top of the page is, "Our businesses". This tab statement says "Our businesses are working together to help people on their path to better health".
Organization and Unit Mission, Vision and Values; Shared Governance Along with vision and values, another important message that health care organization needs to declare is their mission statement. By having publicly stated their core intent, beliefs, future desires, and plan of operations, allows the public to imagine the possibilities and outcomes for the future of health care (Huber, 2014). I have worked for many different healthcare organizations. Each of them has had similar mission statements in providing compassionate, high-quality, competent care with hope for healing, and a healthy future for their patients.
It is important for every company to have a mission statement, for the declaration is a guide which a company uses to push their company toward in the future. To determine what goals they want to achieve a company has to create both a mission and a vision goal and then set up policies and procedures to meet their goal (Huber,
The American Hospital Association's (AHA) Vision statement says that "The AHA vision of a society of healthy communities, where all individuals reach their highest potential for health. " Its mission is "To advance the health of individuals and communities. The AHA leads, represents and serves hospitals, health systems, and other related organizations that are accountable to the community and committed to health improvement" (aha.org, 2016). The rights that are emphasized in the AHA's "Patient Care Partnership" are the full expectation that patients should experience during their hospital stay.
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee touches on some significant subjects, which still arise evidently in today’s problems. Furthermore, a gender-biased world includes one of the prominent themes running throughout the book and Harper Lee brilliantly explores this controversial topic without a noticeably heavy tone. Lee introduces the main narrator and character, Scout Finch, as a young girl in a tight-knit family living in the sleepy town of Maycomb where her family begins to struggle with injustice looming above, ready to dampen their spirits. Though their father Atticus keeps their family strong, it does not stop inequity to rear its ugly face to show no mercy at all. As Scout matures, she often gets berated about her tomboyish attitude and her liking to the company of men instead of women, as well as her brother making conflicting comments by using her gender against her.
