Organization and Unit Mission, Vision and Values; Shared Governance
Along with vision and values, another important message that health care organization needs to declare is their mission statement. By having publicly stated their core intent, beliefs, future desires, and plan of operations, allows the public to imagine the possibilities and outcomes for the future of health care (Huber, 2014). I have worked for many different healthcare organizations. Each of them has had similar mission statements in providing compassionate, high-quality, competent care with hope for healing, and a healthy future for their patients. I am currently employed as an interventional radiology nurse in Avon hospital, which is part of the Cleveland Clinic (CC) health system. For the purpose of this paper, I will be using the mission statement, values, and vision of CC. I will also be explaining the nursing departmental structure, pros and cons of the organizational model, and nursing strategies to strengthen the mission and vision of this organization.

Every department that I have worked for within the CC always follow the CC organizational mission and values, as well as the nursing shared governance models. Although the radiology department also has its own philosophy of care committed the development and application of minimally invasive imaging techniques for the purpose of diagnosing and treatment of a disease process (Cleveland Clinic Imaging Institute [CCII], 2017). The nursing staff in my department on a daily basis are committed to providing high quality, safe, and competent care regardless of social or economic status, which is consistent with the mission statement and core values of the organization and imaging
