The Delta airline is a reputed company in the industry. It is reputed due to its hardworking and experienced employee and high-quality customer service. In 1990 recession and in the 1991 gulf war, the delta airline was facing financial problem in their business, so they raise their fly cost per seat mile 9.26 which was very expensive compared to other airline industry (Noe, R. A.,2017).
The main issue delta airlines were facing was competitor airline lower cost. The customer flies competitor airline due to lower cost and not flying on delta due to expensive. This was the big loss for delta airlines. To solve this issue the delta airlines CEO introduces new strategy “Leadership 7.5” is to reduce “the cost per mile seat from 9.26 cents to 7.5 cents” (Noe, R. A.,2017). The service of the delta became worse and the reputation of delta went down. The problem of the delta airlines was they gave more attention on the recession, but they did not give importance to employee performance and customer service. Most of the company success is due to their employee’s quality of work and the better customer service (Noe, R. A. ,2017). To resolve the issue of delta airlines the HRM should take some action plan for an inexperienced worker and low paid worker. HRM should give incentive and increase their wages, this will encourage employees to do quality work and will give more priority to the work. The HRM need to give training to inexperienced employees to improve their quality of work so they can provide the best customer service. Providing incentives for the employees will be costly, but the company can get a profit in the future. Hiring a trainer to train employees will be a financial expense, but it will give companies a quality
