There are some people in this world that will tell you that learning is not real work. Any teacher, any student, can tell you that learning is truly a working experience. It requires time, effort, and passion. Teachers take this work to a new level, they make learning an actual job. One that does not pay overtime, does not always garner the respect that it deserves, but a job that does shape the world. Interns get to understand both sides as we are both teachers and students; and those two positions do not always overlap easily. When we teach our students, we give them our everything. It takes a lot from us: our time, our health, and even our personal income at times. We love to help our students however, so this price was never too high. It is worth all and more to see our children succeed. On the flip side, being a student at the same time requires a high level of commitment as well. Balancing life as a student, as a teacher, and even as a human being requires careful planning. You have to put what is needed at the forefront. Your CT will be there for you, because they have been in your shoes. No one expects you to know how to teach like a more advanced teacher of multiple years. Mistakes are okay to make, and learning from them will keep you from making them over and over again. Being afraid is different from being nervous. Being nervous is okay, everyone is nervous when trying a new lesson or teaching in front of your supervisor. Being afraid is something you need to take control of, because being afraid when you are in a classroom of students leads to their emotions also turning negative.
