Growing up I had great teachers who not only taught me, but also inspired me to want to be an amazing teacher just like them. The teacher who inspired me the most was my year 2 primary school teacher who taught me various subjects including English, Maths and Science. She also taught me valuable life lessons such as the benefits of helping and inspiring others.

Even though my former teachers have played a pivotal part in my inspiration to teach, my main influence would have to be my youngest brother who was born when I was 10 years old. I spent a lot of time with him and was able help him to develop his skills. Receiving positive feedback from his teachers during various teacher-parent meetings has always made me feel incredibly proud and inspires me to support future generations learn and develop their skills.

As part of my current course, I am undergoing 280 hours in a placement with children aged 2-3 years old where I can help practitioners observe, plan and implement activities to aid the development children’s holistic skills in a safe environment, thus ensuring children have the essential skills they need when they start primary school. …show more content…

Throughout the 75 days I was there, I was able to learn numerous teaching methods by observing how staff observe, plan and implement activities in order to help children. An activity I enjoyed planning and implementing was when I planned an obstacle course to observe children’s various physical skills such as balancing, co-ordination and flexibility. During the execution of the activity, I learnt how to observe children together using different observation methods. I was then able to plan further activities using the EYFS to see what children aged 4-5 were un/able to do and then plan further to ensure they were able to reach their developmental
