Rationale • Decreasing executive bonuses will provide more funding to the budget, therefore allowing TechFite to increase employees work hours. • TechFite is widely known for their community involvement. They can continue to keep that status by setting a minimum donation amount. • Ignoring the company policy about full-time employees benefits has caused relationships between them and their employer to deteriorate. One of the ethical issues was misuse of resources. This was apparent when there were excessive bonuses that were being paid out to executives rather than using that money to pay their employees. Another issue is the fact that by not following through with the community commitments that were made which in result will tarnish the pride that is brought to the company in terms of community involvement. Above all else, the company experienced an ethical issue when they started to cut the hours of all full-time employees. They were cutting the hours because they were not able to budget for the full-time benefits that the employees were not getting. When employees are hired on they do expect to make “X” amount and receive “X” benefits, so when that is cut it causes the employee’s relationship with their employer to
