There is more than one billion computers in use and still continue to skyrocket. Technology is overcoming many jobs in the workplace, especially within real estate. The technological revolution is causing real estate agents to reconsider their job duties as well as adapt to newer technology. If agents aren’t changing and revolutionizing, then they are faced with the choice of letting technology replace them in the workplace. Although technology is a helpful tool for real estate agents, technology equipment should not replace real estate agents, because of their need for face-to-face negotiations, ensuring agent-client relationships, as well as personal salesmanship.

This technology is allowing agents to connect with buyers overseas, and develop a broader clientele. Agents are able to build up more clients with the help of this new technology by arranging video calls overseas to prospective customers. Buyers can now view their potential homes with a single call without even having to catch a flight. Buyers and selling all over the world can now connect an agent in a new country overseas and gain information about a house without even flying there. When buyers are in a rush for a new house, they are able to use the FaceTime application to preview a potential house. Agents are saving time while the customers save money. According to the video by Veterans United, social media is one of the most important tools in real estate because, “it’s a really great way to interact with realtors in your area and also nation wide, to learn from them and also to make a name for yourself so that when buyers are searching for an agent, they find you” (Veterans United, 2014).
