“In 2013, 71 percent of the U.S. population age 3 and over used the Internet”(Herold). While some people use the internet for fun others use it for work, school, or to help them with everyday activities. Some people believe technology should not be used in schools, but the benefits of technology outweigh the disadvantages. Schools use technology in order to prepare students for the future, help students with different paces and learning techniques, and allow this who need special help the same opportunities as those who don’t. Using technology in schools will help students to prepare for future careers. The advancements in technology are increasing in careers; allowing students to use technology now will help them to be ready for their future. “With the job market a competitive and ever-evolving arena, determining your career path is more than just following your passions and skills, it’s about being adaptive in this digital age and understanding what skills and jobs are in high demand… ”(Fyfe). Technology impacts many careers; if students understand it now they will be more prepared for the technology in the future.
