People have trouble understanding why and how people become who they are. Ted Bundy was a psychopath that killed many, but no one knows why. What people wonder though is why did he commit these crimes? What made him like the way he was?
Ted Bundy was born November 24 1946 at the Elizabeth Lund Home for Unwed Mothers. His mother’s name was Louise Cowell and he never knew his father and his identity is still unknown. She moved to her parent’s home to raise her new son. (Charles Montaldo, 2017)
In the 50’s single mothers were frowned upon so Louise’s parent’s took the role as Ted’s parents, so for most of his childhood, he thought they were his parents and Louise was his sister. Bundy’s grandfather would beat his wife and family, even the family dog. Samuel, Ted’s grandfather, suffered from hallucinations and would argue with people who are not even there. Eleanor, his grandmother, suffered from depression and agoraphobia which means she is afraid to be in places that can cause a panic therefore she had been enduring shock therapy. (Charles Montaldo, 2017) In 1951 Ted and his mother moved in with Louise’s cousins and later on married a man Johnnie Culpepper Bundy. Ann liked him instantly and after he attacked her, she tried to talk to Washington to have him to confess to her of him kidnapping her so, then they would after put him in a mental hospital to further help him with his psychopathy. Rule also stated it was terrifying because he was a stand up guy. (Justin Moyer, 2015) Bundy definitely fooled many people with the act he put on but it all came to an end on January 24, 1989 he was executed in the electric chair at 7:16 am and people were watching it and chanting “burn, Bundy, burn”.
