“William is a most important American playwright, screen writer, short stony and novelist. He was considered as one of the word most popular play wrights and living dramatist’’ (c l c v s 498). Tennessee Williams was born in 1911 in Columbus, Mississippi, the United States of America. He was one of the most significant American playwrights of twentieth century. He was mayor American dramatist like Henrik, Ibsen. He was an intensely subjective writer who romanticized his own experience. He was named Thomas Lanier Williams3, for his paternal grandfather. He later used this slender thread to justify the nickname he adopted slender. He also used the name for himself for his poetic character. Williams was called as “Tom” In his youth his father worked with a telephone company and traveled up and down on their behalf had left Edwin and his two Children with her parents, his father was a hard drinking, traveling shoe salesman who spent most of his time away from home. His father was most careless about the family, laud –talking, poker playing man’s man. His mother was Dakin Williams, the daughter of Walter Dakin who was the local Episcopal priest. Her mother was Rose O. Dakin who was music teacher. His father had no permanent residence in U.S.A. therefore his father left them in Tom’s maternal grandfather clergy’s home.
