After reading about therapeutic cloning, I’ve come to the conclusion that it is no different than what researchers are trying to do with ES cell research. The difference in the process is that the egg is penetrated, without destroying it and the nucleus is removed with the host DNA and replaced with a nucleus from the cell of the donor that requires the ES cell for therapy. At that point the egg is left to develop into a blastocyst using the donor DNA and the process of extracting the inner cell mass to cultivate the stem cells that are genetically compatible with the

Therapeutic cloning can be replacing old organs on to someone or something else. Reproductive cloning is cloning a whole new human body. Therapeutic and reproductive cloning are just a waste of taxpayer money. Taxpayers would not benefit off of cloning in any way. Both therapeutic and reproductive cloning are dangerous.
Embryonic stem cells could be used to generate new tissue and/or organs for transplantations without the side effects of anti-rejection drugs. Defective and dying tissues caused by diseases or injury could be replaced with a virtually unlimited supply of specially grown cells. New Drugs and therapies could be identified with the help of human stem cell cultures. Basically, this breakthrough in stem cell research could help millions of people in life-changing ways.
Therapeutic Cloning is the replication of human embryos to harvest stem cells for medical uses. Therapeutic Cloning allows an individual’s own cells to be used to treat or cure that person’s disease. It is the removal of a nucleus which contains the somatic cell. A somatic cell is any cell of a living organism except the reproductive cells. One of the many goals of cloning is to bring extinct animals back but there’s been so much controversy over the reason for and how it will put humanity in danger.
In recent years, several competing viewpoints have emerged about embryonic stem cell research. All of this debate raises an important question, Should embryonic stem cell research be conducted for treatment of present and future diseases? People who believe that an embryo should not be destroyed tend to say that embryonic stem cell research should not be conducted. On the other hand, people who believe that embryonic stem cell research creates means of curing diseases reply that the research should be conducted. Embryonic stem cell research “uses special cells found in three-to-five day old human embryos to seek cures for a host of chronic disease” (PRC).
Though technology at some point will likely make this possible, “human cloning is scientifically distant at best” and “the scientific community has universally condemned it” (Acost and Golub 429). Without the support of the possible creators of this technology, there is no way that this would ever come about, and it remains irrelevant to the known information about the benefits stem cell research would have on the world of healing medicine. At the center of the controversy lies politics and the continuous battle between being supportive of the research and respecting the beliefs of American groups. If doctors could replace the defective organ with a new one, which is developed by replicating the original organ, the process could be cheaper and extend the life of the patient without any complications. “Stem cells could potentially be used to grow a particular type of tissue or organ if directed to differentiate in a certain way” (Medical News Today).
There has always been a misconception of what it means to clone. The general idea is that cloning is making a precise copy of the cloned subject; however, that is misleading. Cloning organisms does not work completely like the copy machine making copies, but more like breeding animals where two desired breeds are being bred to produce a new offspring where it grows into something that is somewhat similar to the expected outcome. To further understand cloning, the difference between therapeutic and reproductive cloning must be recognized. As Susan Aldridge illustrates in her article “Human Cloning”, therapeutic cloning is the creation of an embryo which will later develop into tissues and cells for the purpose of research.
