The book of Mark tells us about the miracles of Jesus and his ministry. Mark goes on to show us that Jesus was a man of action and authority. Jesus used his powers to heal and spread the gospel to the unbelievers. This raised issues with the Jewish officials in this time which cause them to plot his death. This book was written by John Mark. It was never disputed about the authorship of this book. Mark wrote this book in AD 65. The key term is “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life-a ransom for many” (Mark, 10:45). He wrote this this letter around AD 40-42. He was a significant early Christian leader, he witness the resurrection of the lord, presided over the Jerusalem Counsel and was considered a pillar in the church at Jerusalem. The letter he wrote basically focused on the Christians instead of the church. He wanted to teach the practice of Christianity to the Christian people. He does not quote many things from the gospel but he does quote many words from Jesus in his letter. He explains to you how a Christian should live their lives according to god’s way. He also speak about anger, quarreling, favoritism, controlling the tongue, boasting, patience, and prayer. He describes each one of these topics to let you know how to handle yourself and have faith in god. He is trying to make the believer become a better Christian through Christ. He stresses that a person should not just hear the word but do what is needed to have a more intimate relationship with Christ.
