All around the world individuals get their sources of information from a newspaper, television, magazines, and radio. Media mainstream has increase over the years because there are several companies that have been created. Mainstream media is used to gather and report political and governmental news for the people to know what is going on in the world. There are numerous companies that make a lot of money by broadcasting the news, so that people will collect information. Political news is in entertainment shows, so that people will be appealing to the audiences watching. The Daily Show is an example of infotainment because they talk about politics and it is entertaining. An example is the episode Donald Trump. The show makes individual’s laugh because Donald Trump is saying bad words and how Donald Trump make fun of candidates. Infotainment plays a big role because it makes individuals interested in politics other than just reading from the newspaper. Another example is The Colbert Report. There is an episode about Hilary Clinton and the commentator makes the show hilarious, so that the audience will be interested in politics. Infotainment plays a huge role in society because it makes millennial interested in politics because it is very funny. Only 16 percent of 18-30 years olds said that they read the newspaper everyday. In society today, several individuals are not interested in reading long stories because they lose interest. Infotainment is a way for citizens to engage in politics and to have a more consistent political behavior. An example is the BET for African Americans, Telemundo for Hispanics and the Fox News targeting conservatives. The Black Entertainment Television is targeting specific people only for African Americans to celebrate their accomplishments in the world. BET is an example of narrowcasting because they only give awards to African Americans and not other races. Similarly, Telemundo is a Spanish network aimed for Spanish people and they show the news and TV shows. The Fox News is targeted to conservatives and they use New York Times. Narrowcasting and Infotainment is biased because they are in favor of one race or they are making fun of other people. Narrowcasting is biased because they are only in favor of one race and they are leaving out of the other races. Infotainment is also biased because they are interested in making the audience entreated rather than long political news. Individuals will not know the whole story because infotainment is just entertaining the audience and is not long and detailed.
