Othello is a ‘Tragedy’ and is one of the best works by William Shakespeare. In short, it is a story about love, jealously and betrayal. Othello mistakenly believes that his true love and wife Desdemona, is not faithful to him; which in turn leads to the murder of his wife. The character of Iago is diabolical from the very beginning of the story. On the outside, Iago appears to be trustworthy and loyal, but on the inside he is creating a master plan to ruin Othello’s and Desdemona’s happiness. He simply hates Othello, for being happy and for having a loving wife.
