The Greenhouse Effect Climate Change

The greenhouse effect is a natural process that warms the earth 's surface (The GreenHouse Effect Climate Change). The temperature of the earth is a balance between the heat it gets from the sun and the heat it radiates back into space. The atmosphere acts like an insulating layer and keeps some of the heat from the sun and heats the earth 's surface. The earth’s atmosphere is made up of greenhouse gasses. Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere-Carbon Dioxide, Water vapor and Methane. These gases allow short wavelength radiation from the sun to pass through to the earth’s atmosphere and the solar energy is absorbed by the earth’s surface and lower atmosphere shown in Figure 1.
