This essay’s main focus is on why the framers would not support the modern presidency, and a real-world example, from the modern presidency, which the framers would dislike. The framers of the Constitution did not want the president to be influenced by any outside sources, which include the demands of the people. The framers wanted the president to almost be the leader behind closed doors. It was meant for the president to make the rational decisions instead of those based on what the media and the public thought were the correct decisions. (Miroff, 2017)The framers wanted to keep the president apart from the many institutions that make up the apparatus of the government. However, in the mind of the public, the president is supposedly the one that can unanimously make all of the decisions. These American citizens personally bestow all of their hopes and fears directly on the president. This is what the framers wanted to avoid as well. They thought of the presidency as being one of the three branches of government. Both the House and the Senate are just as important in making any substantial change.
