After the season had ended, Jackie then intended to be a running back for the Los Angeles Bulldogs. But the Japanese attacked Pearl harbor at this time and that interrupted and unfortunately ended Jackie's football career. Jackie wasn't a good football player. He was a great football player.
In his article “Should College Athletes be Paid? Why, They Already Are”, Seth Davis is able to effectively argue why Branch’s argument in “The Shame of College Sports” is incorrect through his use of rhetorical strategies to the Sports Illustrated audience. Davis’ use of ethos addresses Branch’s trustworthiness in what he includes or does not include in his article. Through his use of logos Davis is able to point out why Branch’s logic does not add up. Finally, Davis’ accusatory tone asserts his opinion of Branch’s writing, which tears down why Branch’s own article is flawed.

Why would the players be so excited just by a few words about their school pride? Well, those few words hold a great meaning behind them to the players. It reminds everyone of the years spent together on the practice field, in the weight room, giving it a 100% to play for each other on the football field.

Each year this is given to an athlete that is deserving. Just going to college for football is a great feat but having them fighting for you to come to their college is even crazier. Bissinger shows some statistics, but does not show where he got the information from. First of all, Bissinger did not cite his sources when supporting his claim.

The influence of one person passed on to another is inevitable when it comes to life, but even more unavoidable when it extends to sports. College sports in fact have an impact on a mass majority of people, from spectators to players, these endeavors create hopes and dreams for any individual. Not only that, any heart strung story coming from sports gets plastered on media outlets so a greater population of people can also be influenced by a game, but I want to go further than that. Personally, I believe there is a greater meaning behind sports than for it just to be a pastime. There is a reason that the superior divisions of athletics are harder to reach than decades before because of the higher levels of knowledge that continue to be passed down from great coaches to greater players in a never ending cycle.

The sport I chose to observe was college football. I decided to chose this sport because football is a sport my family enjoys to watch. Also I enjoy watching football more than any other sport because there is so much that could happen, in football many unexpecting plays could happen, and each game is different than the last one. The game I chose to watch was a college football game between the University of Notre Dame and the University of Miami that took place at the University of Miami on Saturday, November 11, 2017. The game started with Miami kicking the ball to Notre Dame.
