Scott Fitzgerald, indicates that the American Dream is not completely attainable, which is shown through Gatsby, who strives to find meaning in life by trying to achieve his inconceivable future. Gatsby was a motivated young man who “believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us” (Fitzgerald 189).
