To make a significant change in the world, countless hours of preparation, of work, and proactive cooperation with others are crucial for success. I partake in few extra-curricular activities, but I have dedicated years of my life to them all. On a regular week, I have to balance French club and National French Honor Society secretary duties, community service for National Honor Society, and additional choir practice for at least two hours after school each week (while sometimes performing community service with the choir as well). I want to become an engineer; so I take AP classes that are useful and interest me because I will need to know advanced math and science concepts in college. All of these extra-curricular activities and academics will become even more relevant when it is time for me to advance my future goals of pursuing a higher education and making significant efforts to aid the world by designing helpful technology with medical applications.
Being a candidate for the National Honor Society is a tremendous honor for me. Since I began high school, it has been a goal of mine to be a part of this amazing organization. Being involved in my school and community has always been important to me, and any chance I get to further my involvement is great. I believe that NHS is the perfect opportunity for me to serve others and help better our community. While these were common struggles I was also finding difficulty in figuring out what I wanted to do. I entered UCI as a Psychology and Social Behavior major and with advices from other people I was pursuing Pre-Med as well and I started taking chemistry and biology classes. However, I was quick to find out that these classes were not for me which was reflected in my grades in those courses. Even though the initial couple of months were difficult, I found what I was passionate about which were the criminology classes that I began to take.
My goal with my college degree is to graduate with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and eventually transition into law school within the state of Georgia. After law school, I plan to become a juvenile and immigration attorney in hopes of one day becoming a positive influence and defender for those without a voice. However, as a first generation college student, financially speaking attending college has not been easy. Surviving college would have been impossible without the support of my mother.

As I am a current student at Sinclair Community college, I have many academic goals. For example, the three top goals for my academic success are to pass all my prerequisite classes, to succeed in achieving the Wright State scholarship for having a 3.0 GPA or above, and finally, my last goal is to allow myself the opportunity to help others in their path to success academically. Not only are there academic goals, I also have my career goals to consider as well. In fact, I have already completed one of my top three career goals as well. For example, my top third career goal was to get a job in the career field I was looking for.
The reason why I want to be in the Health Career Pathway at Chase High School, for future careers. I have been not sure about what I wanted to be when I grew up. I was wanting to go into the medical field but was not sure about it. I did not know what it was about or like what areas I wanted to be in or anything. 2016 summer I was accepted into the Teen Volunteer Program at Rutherford Regional Hospital.
Time Management and Finding Balance While Attending College There are many reasons why students do not attend or finish college right after they complete high school. Some people are not necessarily ready to focus on 4 more years of school or some may become skilled in a trade and instead of pursuing a degree, they choose to acquire a skill and earn money. For me it was a combination of not being quite ready to focus on University level courses and not having the financial backing to complete college. At any rate with the invention of the internet and the inter communication that is available now, someone like me, can now work a full time job and still earn credits in college from the comfort of my own home. As comfortable and convenient as it all sounds, there are still quite a few obstacles for achieving your goals while balancing family, career and the demanding schedule of online courses.
Although, I feel that I am secure in the position that I hold at my current employer, I would like to make my options more plentiful for my future. My children will be starting their school career and I will need to be there for them if they have questions. I feel that not only will getting a degree better myself and my future options, it will also allow me to be a better teacher to my children. The influence that my children and their future has had on me will insure that I will do the best that I can to keep a great GPA and make CCU and my children proud of me. My goal with these classes is to learn as much as I can to broaden my horizens for the future.
To begin with, I graduated high school with honors for having over a 4.0 GPA, while working part-time throughout and keeping a well-balanced social life as well. Furthermore, my undergraduate program at Grand Valley State University in biomedical science has given me a strong base to build upon towards furthering my biomedical studies. The classes I have taken have strengthened my overall understanding of human anatomy from the cellular and microscopic levels to the systemic and macroscopic levels. Due to current financial responsibilities, I have continued to work a full-time job throughout my schooling, all the while maintaining a 3.591 Grade Point Average. In addition, several of my undergraduate classes were affected by COVID-19 during the pandemic so instead of relying on class, much of what I learned was self-taught through my notes and reading.
