College is one of the most important steps to improve the future of an individual’s life, nevertheless, many individuals, like myself, doubt embarking on the journey out of fear. In my personal experience, my fear was not as extreme. Even so, in extreme cases, fear develops into a persistent and irregular phobia. When humans feel fear it 's unpleasant which may lead to mild or extreme consequences that can manifest as symptoms such as stress, anxiety, depression, and panic attacks; additional symptoms may vary from person-to-person. From personal experience, before initiating college and during the beginning of college still has been a frightening experience due to feeling fearful of the possibility of failure, fearing my personality as an introvert, feeling incapable of learning, busy life, time constriction, and financial burden. The power to change the situation resides in the hands of an individual, who is willing, capable of going beyond their fears to achieve success in their lives. Fear cannot define a person; instead, a person defines its fear. An important step for an individual to conquer, essentially, is to initiate college despite the fear perceived in an individual mind. First-time adult students fear to begin college, fearing the possible failure, unfortunate not all students have the time to attend college as a full-time student, having responsibilities and busy schedules. Individuals also fear the expenses that come along with attending a college such as daily costs, and tuition expenses. Finally, an individual, whom may perhaps consider attending college, does not know if failure is a definite possibility.
