A Florida driver's guide for my teen with a learners permit Everyone eventually has to drive when they grow up. If you are the one driving your very excited to be on the road, while parents on the other hand are killing themselves while your driving. In Dave Barry's letter to his daughter starting to drive shows exactly what a worried parent of a new driver looks like. During the letter Dave talks about the dangers of driving and the dangers of people in Florida.
In this letter, the author argues that all students should be required to take the driver’s education course at Centerville High School which is a mandatory program sponsored by the high school to solve the teenage driving problems in the town of Centerville. He supports his argument by presenting some evidence, however, there can be a number of flaws in his argument, rendering it unconvincing. First, the author assumes that Centerville High School students should take driver’s program because several accidents in and around Centerville have involved teenagers. However, the evidence the author needs to provide that the accidents may have been caused only by Centerville High School students.
By providing these statistics, the author is trying to convince the reader to change their driving habits by illustrating the unfortunate consequences of reckless driving habits. Leonhardt appeals to the logical side of the readers by using statistics the illustrates America’s devastatingly high rate of motor casualties in addition to their incomparable rate of unsafe driving habits, in an attempt to convince them of this horrific issue that faces America and the need to amend it through mindful driving
Road rage, ignoring traffic laws, drinking and driving, or texting and driving are becoming a convention. As more people convert to these unacceptable actions, the roads become even more perilous. Reevaluating the way individuals drive could end up saving someone’s
There is much more to lifeguarding than Wendy Peffercorn leads on (Sandlot). Between the bloody noses, well developed ten year old girls, and fifty year old men who fancy the young lifeguards, a lot goes into consideration when trying to decide what pool is right for one to lifeguard at. Although all lifeguard jobs may look the same from the outside, the differences are apparent to the employees. In the Joplin, Missouri area the two main lifeguard employers are Joplin Parks and Recreation and the YMCA. Both of these organizations are respected by the community, but they each have their shortcomings regarding pay, schedules, and the environment.
In Plano, Texas, many drive to get from place to place, but for this suburban mom’s fear of driving has gotten difficult. For Kalika Patel, driving was never a difficult task, but through past experiences it has gotten difficult. She said this “started when I was running regular errands, but suddenly my blood pressure increased, and I became dizzy” This may not sound like anything major, but after this first incident, this occurred to her many other times. Mrs. Patel said “this kept happening over and over again, finally it felt as it was an anxiety problem” Currently, she still deals with anxiety, but she said “that [her] condition has gotten much better from the few years ago, when this innocent first occurred,” as she told our news team.
In eleventh grade, I became President of my school’s “ In the Driver’s Seat” Club, an association founded with the goal of raising awareness about the dangers of impaired driving. This club had been active at my school in the past; however, when I was in grade ten, it ceased to exist. I felt that this club was necessary to the school as it taught students how important it is to think before getting into a car, as impaired driving is never the best choice. In addition to raising awareness, the club fundraised for Mothers Against Drunk Driving Canada (M.A.D.D. Canada).
As we all know driving has several advantages, especially for college students. First of all, it gives students a greater sense of independence and freedom by enabling them to pursue different possibilities and discover new locations without depending on others or public transit. With those benefits comes the dangers of driving. Moreover, The necessity of driving education cannot be overstated for a variety of reasons.
Road safety has been a major issue in cities across the world as many people often feel unsafe while operating a vehicle on busy roads with high traffic. This issue has been a major problem in the city of Atlanta that has caused drivers and pedestrians to travel through the highly populated city. With congested areas of traffic, and drivers not giving their full attention to the roads, there has been a significantly high number of car accidents that happen throughout Atlanta. These issues cause problems with road safety, as well as the city’s fast increase in population and businesses that lead to an increase in traffic. An article by author Rosana Hughes discusses a traumatic event when a woman was fatally struck by a hit and run driver on
“Every year 500,000 teens are injured in a car wreck. Every year 5,000 teens die in a car wreck meaning an average of 14 teens die a day. Car crashes are the No. 1 killer of teens in the U.S. Even more than alcohol and drug abuse, violence and suicide”. Teens are always excited to earn their license and drive out on the road for the first time, but not every time will be a success, it might also be their last.
Over my two years of lifeguarding, I noticed the majority of beach goers fit into three categories. These include the drowners, beach bodies, and protective parents. First, there are the drowners. This group is not necessarily bad at swimming.
I am a lifeguard. I have to renew my certifications every year for cpr and every two years for oxygen, first aid, swim instructor and lifeguard. My job has helped me in an abundant way in order to better serve people if they are ever in a difficult health situation. I started training with my now boss, Elaine Yarranton, at the age of 15, in August, almost 16 in September. I was not yet at the required minimum age of 16 to become a lifeguard-- still, she took me in and helped me become certified.
Inexperience in teen drivers is the most substantial reason for these accidents. The possibility of teens
