The model T was also known as the “Tin Lizzie” had made Americans life easier by changing the way they live, work, and travel. Henry Ford’s advancements in assembly-line automobile manufacturing made the Model T the first car that was affordable to a majority of Americans. Pretty soon after the Model T was released it became a reality for average American workers. More than 15 million Model Ts were built in Detroit and highland Park, Michigan and the automobile was also assembled at a Ford plant in Manchester, England and at plants in continental Europe. The Model T was built from 1908-1927, It quickly became remarkable for its low cost, durability, versatility and easy maintenance. A choice of colors were available, but from 1913 to 1925 the Model T was produced in only one color which was black. The engine was simple and reliable, with all four cylinders cast in a single block and the top of the cylinder was detachable, so it was easy to reach for repairs. The engine generated 20 horsepower and propelled the car to top speeds of 40-45 miles per hour. In most models the engine started by crank and activated a magneto connected to the flywheel, but in the 1920’s some models were equipped with battery-powered starters. The transmission, consisting of two forward gears and one reverse, was of the planetary type, controlled by foot pedals rather than the common hand lever on the steering column. There was a 10 gallon fuel tank that was located under the front seat. Back then gas was given to the engine only by gravity, and also because the reverse gear offered more power than the forward gears, it was very often that the Model T had to be driven up backwards when going up a steep hill. His idea was to use moving platforms of a conveyor system. In this system the chassis of the vehicle was towed by a rope that moved it from station to station in order to allow workers to assemble each part. By using this method, the Model T could be produced every ninety minutes. By improving assembly-line Henry Ford was known as the father of automotive mass production because of how quickly he was able to produce cars in one day.“and senior figures in X tell me that they’re confident something will hit the market before 2020”. It seems that uber drivers are trying to take advantage of the new self-driving car even though they aren’t really self-driving they have a back- up driver just in case something happens. There have been modifications to self-driving however and Tesla the leading car company in electric cars have enabled an auto-piolet in there new line of cars, which in some peoples understanding means I don’t have to keep my hands on the wheel at all times anymore and that is the biggest mistake ever made because in May an individual got into a car accident and he was dead on site. The investigation lead to the conclusion that the victim was on auto-piolet when the crash
