Even though Capulet, The Nurse, and Friar Lawrence are highly responsible for the lovers’ deaths in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence is ultimately most responsible for their deaths because he was the one who married them even though he knew nothing good would come out of this marriage and he made a plan that failed that led to the death of Romeo and eventually Juliet’s. The Nurse contributes to Romeo and Juliet’s death by betraying Juliet in her time of need by telling her to marry Paris and give in to her dad’s wish. While Friar Lawrence helped lead them to their deaths by failing to succeed in the plan to reunite Romeo and Juliet.
