Many factors contributed to the deaths of the star lovers Romeo and Juliet. We’re the teenagers responsible for their lives or was it fate? The most responsible for those deaths are Friar Lawrence, Romeo, and Juliet. Throughout the story we see these characters put their feelings and thoughts to endanger someone. In the story, we see Friar Lawrence as a friend and adviser, Romeo would go to him when he needed someone to talk to, Lawrence married the forbidden couple and helped Juliet fake her death. In the story it established,(II.iii 90-95) “O, she knew well Thy love did read by rote, that could not spell. But come, young waverer, come, go with me. In one respect I’ll thy assistant be,For this alliance may so happy prove To turn your households’ rancor to pure love.” Lawrence thought marrying them would end the feud of the Montague and Capulet family, instead it caused the star crossed lovers to end in death. Lawrence, letting his own hopes and motives accept Romeo’s wish, he also gave Juliet the idea of faking her death, which caused Romeo to kill himself at the end. Juliet let Romeo fall in love with her and wanted to marry Romeo, even though he was a Montague. In the text it illustrates (I.iiiii.119-121), {Juliet}“Then have my lips the sin that they have took” {Romeo}“Sin from my lips? O trespass sweetly urged! Give me my sin again.” This shows how Juliet knew it was wrong and considered it a “sin” when they kissed. She continued to acknowledge Romeo and wanted to fake her death to be with Romeo.
