Criminal Justice Department of Scotland: The People vs Macbeth

Ladies, gentlemen, people of the jury. I have come here today to prosecute one of the biggest tragedies of man. I plead for you to listen with your ears, not your hearts. Please, do not portray your bias with this decision. I am seeking justice, that is all. Furthermore, I decree that Macbeth, the King of Scotland, is guilty of the murder of Duncan, which will be evident to all after I reveal that Macbeth was the last person to visit Duncan's room where the weapon was found, a testimony from a key ear witness, describe Macbeth’s odd conspiracies with the weïrd sisters, and Macbeth's inexplicable fits.

These meetings are disturbing and is not helping Macbeth's case. There are rumors of one of the witches prophesying that “Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter” (1.3.53). Our source claims that they heard this while Macbeth was the Thane of Glamis. So, why was Macbeth engaging with witches? Was being Thane of Glamis not enough for him? Additionally, the source heard discussion that “[Banquo] shalt get kings, though [Banquo] be none” (1.3.70). The only person besides the witches and Banquo to know that prophecy is Macbeth. It makes perfect sense. Macbeth kills Duncan to make Banquo believe Fleance will obtain the throne. As soon as Banquo becomes suspicious of Macbeth's actions, Macbeth kills him. It's a brilliant way to twist and abuse someone's trust to further achieve a goal. This potential second murder further justifies that Macbeth is a savage beast who belongs nowhere but jail.
