Is there something that you’re constantly told is worth fighting for? That you’re told is for a good cause so you feel as if you need to be a part of it? Well, that’s what many people have been told before. People such as troops fighting for independence from England. They were told to fight for their independence, which they did want, but they leave out all the many disadvantages that come with fighting.

The world is a much safer place when America is the strongest military power. There’s many reasons for this such as preventing wars, protecting U.S. citizens and ability to influence decisions. In some countries every young person has to go to the military for 2 years, America does not have to but if you think about it, the idea could help us out a lot. Maybe not everyone would like the idea but it has more pros than cons and it would help America become better. People always make fun of others for their weight but, if we actually did this more people would be in shape. I think we should do the military thing, it is a good idea for a lot of reasons.
Military grade weapons are made for one reason and one reason only—to kill human beings. There is no reason for ordinary people to have access to this type of weaponry, especially semi-automatic rifles. More weapons, especially more semi-automatic weapons, does not mean less crime; semi-automatic weapons are not convenient for personal protection, and banning these weapons could help lower the number of mass shootings that occur in this country today. In 2016 alone, approximately 39,000 Americans were killed by guns, most of these deaths were caused by semi-automatic weapons (Lopez).
