Is there something that you’re constantly told is worth fighting for? That you’re told is for a good cause so you feel as if you need to be a part of it? Well, that’s what many people have been told before. People such as troops fighting for independence from England. They were told to fight for their independence, which they did want, but they leave out all the many disadvantages that come with fighting.
In the shadows of every conflict around the world, the Military Industrial Complex can be found. First coined by President Eisenhower in 1961, the term Military Industrial Complex represents the privatized weapons industry in the United States. Also in his 1961 speech, Eisenhower warned against the corruption and dangers of the system. One of these dangers is lobbying, which occurs when a company hires a person to convince and persuade members of Congress to pass a bill in the company's favor. Lobbying is very common inside the Military Industrial Complex, and it has created a system called the Iron Triangle.

Valley Forge. Would You Have Quit? Many people are going home from these harsh conditions, but I will fight for my country. We got there at December 19, 1777, we are 22 miles from Pennsylvania, many of us are sick, it is very cold, and we are hungry. I was asked a question which is: will you reenlist and fight for our country or will you quit and go home.
“War. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing!” (Starr, 1970). I believe that we should bring our US troops home, we need security here back at home, the repercussions aren’t worth it, and war has never solved any of our problems except for creating more.

Introduction: In 2015 the United States Government spent 601 billion dollars on military alone, which seems odd for a country with no major conflicts with any other countries. The only soldiery movement made by the U.S. in that year was pulling troops out of the declining war on terror in the Middle East. So what was the money spent on? The truth is, it's wasted.
The United States is the military powerhouse of the world and there is no question of that. The US has the most advanced military, and has been the number one global power ever since the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. Today the United States has largest defense budget by far in the world. With such a large military budget and the fact that the United States is falling behind the rest of the world on domestic issues such as healthcare, we must ask ourselves, is it really necessary? US defense spending should be cut back with correcting unjustified spending, establishing proper financial records, and being more involved in international cooperation groups to prepare for real threats.

As we look at this issue of having a militia force, or standing together as one army to protect our frontier? You have to look at the idea of a militia force that is raised from the civil population to help supplement a regular army in an emergency situation. Now everyone wants to get more land, then have discussion about the political, economic, juridical and social powers of the government, and now you are showing everyone a perception of the army force. Now North America has become divided, due to three imperial power struggles for dominance. Or is this going to be more effective having a military force that would be based on a regular army With the militia system being successful in the opinion of those who claim it had led to victory in
What Are the Pros and Cons of Military Spending? As the US economy tanked, the banks have been bailing out and the country losing its jobs, its military spending has continued to grow. For the past years, it is recorded to have increased more than 100%, which is very high compared to the height of Ronald Reagan’s presidency and the Cold War. The money allocated for the defense budget is used to purchase sophisticated weapons that often do not make it into production, but when they do, they are just too expensive to maintain.
There are policies in other countries that state young persons must have 2 years military service. I don’t think the U.S should adapt this policy. There are some pros and also some cons that can occur with this policy. There are many reasons why this policy would not be good for the United States. However, take make my argument stand out more clearer, the most solid reasons will be explained.

Although low military spending____. To be clear this argument isn’t pushing for militarization of our country it’s just defending current levels of military spending. The world is a much safer place when America is the strongest military power. There’s many reasons for this such as preventing wars, protecting U.S. citizens and ability to influence decisions. Another positive side of a great military spending is that it will put a fuller use of existing productive capacities, and thus increasing output of goods and services.
Military grade weapons are made for one reason and one reason only—to kill human beings. There is no reason for ordinary people to have access to this type of weaponry, especially semi-automatic rifles. More weapons, especially more semi-automatic weapons, does not mean less crime; semi-automatic weapons are not convenient for personal protection, and banning these weapons could help lower the number of mass shootings that occur in this country today. In 2016 alone, approximately 39,000 Americans were killed by guns, most of these deaths were caused by semi-automatic weapons (Lopez).
