Animal Experimentation Science has rapidly evolved in recent years. Medically we are more advanced than we have ever been before and our level of technological expansion is beyond anything that we could have comprehended. However even with all of this advancement we still resort to animal experimentation. There are both pros and cons to this lack of advancement. Animal experimentation is considered to be taboo for many people yet on the flip side it’s considered a necessity to others. Religion is also a very big factor in determining people’s opinion for this. Christianity for example can be taken both ways. For those supporting animal experimentation they could claim that since animals have no souls they cannot reason. Therefore they can be experimented on without any qualms because they have no soul to injure or torment. Not only this but they can claim that God created animals for man to use …show more content…

Judaism believes that Tzar Baalei Chayim, which means to avoid causing pain to any living creature, must be maintained at all time. Judaism teaches that any of God’s creations must be treated with compassion. If you are mistreating an animal for no reason other than your own desire it is seen as being against the Tzar Baalei Chayim which is a huge problem for the religion seeing as the followers take it to heart. However that is not to say that certain aspects of animal experimentation are not accepted. The only reason that it is acceptable to harm, kill, or experiment on animals is if it fulfills an essential human need. If experimenting on this animal will help cure a disease then it is acceptable. However there is a limitation to that. If the animal is in unnecessary pain and suffering than there is no excuse and it is wrong in the eyes of this religion. The animal cannot be in any pain that is deemed unnecessary and cannot be in any discomfort that is not required to help the essential human
