First, it provides student-athletes with an opportunity to pursue their academic and athletic interests in an environment that better suits their needs. “One of the biggest advantages of allowing student-athletes to transfer from one program to another is that they get the best chance of playing during their football careers” (Sportskeeda 2023). This demonstrates that it does benefit the student's academic performance and the areas where they have the highest possibility of pursuing a college athletic career. Second, it makes a wider range of talent available to coaches and programs, which can help to up the level of competition and the standard of play.
Both organisations are afraid that athletes will start going straight to the NFL and will ruin college football forever. Taking the rule away or limiting it, does not mean every athlete will take the road straight to the NFL, for some athletes college helps them get a good education, learn skills the NFL will not provide, and just have the experience of being young. The NFL and NCAA should not have to worry about this in my opinion this will keep college football and professional football much more enjoyable. The NCAA would not lose players because a lot of the good players are really smart and they know they can perform well in the classroom and on the field. In my life I am looking really forward to college because I can start over and begin a new life away from Cortland and many athletes want to do the same.
Paragraph 1) I believe that high school football shouldn't be banned. You can can make better gear to change the game’s injuries. If high school football gets banned then no college football scouts will scout because they will have nothing to scout. I think high school football should not be banned because if it gets banned then high school football players can't get a football scholarship.
College football fans are more passionate and dedicated than the NFL ones. The college football fans are loyal to the teams. They fill up the whole stadium no matter what team is playing. College football teams gain a good percent of fans from different countries and have different ethnicities that actually go to the game on Saturdays because of the international students. Football holds its fans together as a huge and tight community.
An individual’s discoveries and their process of discovering can vary according to social context and values. This is evident through different experiences of discovery within Jane Harrison’s ‘Rainbows End’ and Gwen Harwood’s ‘Father & Child.’ Harrison and Harwood present Gladys and Dolly from Rainbows End and the child and father from Father and Child to discover individual growth in themselves with the use of characterisation and various other language techniques. Both texts reflect on a feminine and a father and child context.
College athletics have a major role in society today. For instance, take a look at March Madness. An NCAA Division I basketball tournament is the focus of the whole country. Who would have thought that this would have ever been the case? That being said, with these huge events comes huge summations of money.
If you get hurt in college football and it is bad, you might not have a chance of playing because injuries may sometimes take long to recover. A larger number of teams for college football makes it more difficult. College football cannot end in a tie. College football relies on a large number of players to take the field when needed. College football is for good players and takes more
It doesn’t matter if the player is not as good as expected or going to be projected the number one athlete in the class. All that matters is each and every player when they go out to the field or court are always risking their lives on each play. When the athlete is already getting paid in college it can teach the players responsibility. They can set up fines for disobeying the rules set up by the coaches, and they can decide on a suspension for the player, just like in the NFL and all other professional athletes. If the player is good why not give them a little taste of what they will receive in the big leagues.
If college athletes got paid the care for their education would decrease. The thought “I am still getting paid so I can skip class” will occur in their heads. This would make them employees. So then the purpose of college, to get an education, would be defeated.
The best part of a college degree is that people are pigeonholed by their degree. One degree can be used for many other lucrative jobs and careers. This is especially more valuable to the student-athletes that are given full scholarships to attend colleges and universities. Student-athletes do not have to worry about paying for tuition or anything.
College athletes are being paid scholarships but do scholarships pay for rent, loans, or food etc. Paying college athletes detracts the purity of the game. Most football players are not in it for the money but for the love of the sport and the chance to say that they had the chance to play college football at that university. College football is a privilege to play it is also a lot of people's jobs that are on the line that they work at year around threw breaks assignments and
Success in college sports is believed to improve the application rates and caliber of admitted students at certain universities. When Boston College quarterback Doug Flutie won the Heisman trophy, Boston college's undergraduate admissions went up by 25 points and its average SAT score of admitted freshmen increased by 110 points. College sports add a reputation to the school, and a good reputation obviously makes a difference. This reputation can even draw non-athletes. Many colleges use their athletes as core marketers of the university.
College Athletes Necessity of Money College sports are central to development as they provide significant economic assistance as well as a source of entertainment that keeps students safe. Our society demands the need for creativity and entertainment, thus making it necessary for colleges to provide an outlet to do so, as they are building the future leaders of the nation. Although the NCAA inherits billions of dollars from hard-working college athletes, the college athletes do not even receive a small percentage of the profit. If we do not pay college athletes for their hard work, then they will feel unappreciated and be less willing to play college sports, until the NCAA virtually vanishes.
A player can even build up their name, image, and likeness; they can even receive an NIL check. Lastly, college sports are very popular and entertaining, this can bring a lot of money and attention to any school, even the ones that have been unheard of. For instance, the average seating of an SEC football stadium is around 80,000 give or take. Most every game, those stadiums are packed out. And thanks to tournaments like March Madness, small schools such as Grand Canyon University can receive recognition and publicity.
College sports are a vital part of colleges ' because: they bring in billions of dollars of revenue, they give athletes a chance for a good future, and they draw in potential students. College sports are important due to the fact that they bring in revenue for universities. Last year at the University of Oregon the athletic department gained roughly $196 million in total revenue for the college. This money can be used to further the education of thousands of students through scholarships, better classroom supplies, and new teachers. The more money colleges are able to make from sporting events allows spending money to put back into the attendees.
