Ender and his team are forced to do more training than any other unit in the school, and although they are dog tired they have won every battle that they are put into, even when the odds are remarkably stacked against them. In a few short weeks, Ender is sent to commander
Chapter14 “Enders Teacher” Chapter Summary In this chapter Ender arrives at the Command School. Where he meets his new teacher Mazor Rackham. Mazor tells Ender how we went away for a while so he can be alive to teach the commander for the Third Invasion. Ender begins training with the simulations and then begins training to command a whole fleet.
Later on in the book, Ender beats up somebody else to the point of death; his name is Bonzo. Like before, the I.F. also does not tell Ender this information, as seen in this quote, “At least they had the good sense not to tell Ender that the boy died” (266). The reason for this is because after monitoring Ender for three years, the I.F. knows that Ender has compassion. Thus, if they told him that he had committed murder twice, it would devastate Ender. This would not be good for the I.F., because Ender
Soon, Ender landed on a planet and a few days later and realized he was on the giant's game and Ender found a Queen's egg over a mountain in a castle and traveled everywhere to let the queen hatch. when she was ready on a planet and start a new colony. Connell Graff is the director at Battle school and Graff teaches Ender to be a better commander. Soon after Ender goes to Command school and he´s new teacher is Mazer Rackham. Enders compassion is the element that generates his success as a human being as shown through his great love for Valentine as shown through his acceptance of his ruthless brother, and his dedication to helping the buggers survive.
Kessel says that this is all used to by Card to make the reader sympathize for Ender. This allows him to be portrayed as a killer who commits mass genocide, yet is innocent because he has good motives. Kessel goes on to
Ender accepts the offer to go to military school because, in his naivety, he wants to save the world. Shortly after arriving, Ender learns being a hero is not as glamorous as he thought it would be. Ender is forced to
Ender was tasked with leading a platoon when he was in command. He led the platoon through battles against the buggers. Unknowingly, he was fighting off the buggers that entire time. He sacrificed some of his men to kill more buggers. Those men died and Ender at such a young age has to comprehend that he killed people unknowingly.
Education. The most powerful weapon in life. The sweetest fruit for the mind. One of the most needed thing in order to be happy and successful. But what would happen if that was all squashed?
In the book, it is made completely clear that the system of both the Battle School and Command School are breaking Ender down, ultimately demonstrated by Ender being completely bedridden after the Third Invasion due to everything he’s endured. This also happens with the movie’s presentation of the characters, with more characters being sympathetic to Ender. This completely overrides a plot point in the book,
Ender accepted going to Battle school. When Ender got on the shuttle to get ready to go to Battle school Ender was once again bullied. When the shuttle launched and the anti-gravity took effect Ender noticed that since the laws of gravity have no effect on them that to Colonel Graff they could be sideways and that he could be up right or they could be up right and Colonel Graff could be sideways. Colonel Graff noticed Ender laughing and asked him what funny. Ender told him why he was laughing.
He was aware that his whole purpose of battle school was to prepare to kill the buggers. He may not have chosen to genocide the buggers at that moment, but make no mistake Ender was planning for the buggers to die by his hands. John Kessel took this position as well: “the ultimate purpose of any practice was to enact such destruction in reality.” (Kessel, 4) He worked to understand their tactics, pieced together videos, trained extra hours, all so he could be more effective in killing the
His compassion is proven many times, and one of them is the fact that he hates that he feels just like Peter. If Ender had no compassion, why would he have regretted acting like Peter? Ender is also very sympathetic to Bean (even though Ender tries not to show it) and Ender would see himself in Bean, how small and young Bean is but still so determined. Ender initially realizes that he is isolating Bean because Ender himself was once isolated and he wants to force Bean to flourish like Ender did. Ender also has so much empathy that he would think like the buggers, and could understand and anticipate them.
But after practice, he asks to be a toon leader. Ender tells Bean he will see once they have their first battle. Ender then reflects on his attitude to Bean and decides even if Bean doesn’t know if he will be his friend. Which surprisingly is what Graff is doing too when Ender asked if Graff and he were friends. We hear Graff tell him no but learn later
After going into space for battle training, he becomes isolated from the other students immedetaly. Ender overcoming challenges finally begins to be accepted by the other students, only to be transferred and isolated again.
The Madness that is Hamlet (will change) Hamlet, like many of Shakespeare’s plays, is very well known and is read in high schools around the world. A definite tragedy, the play centers around a boy named Hamlet, who's father (the King of Denmark) has just died. He is in the process of grieving and is deemed unstable to take the throne. Instead, his uncle Claudius takes it and in turn marries Hamlet’s mother, Queen Gertrude.
