During her Tedx Talk, she often talks about 21st Century Policing and how it should be standardized in general. In addition, she focuses especially on the first pillar: building trust and legitimacy. The commissioner see community policing not as an expression, but as a philosophy that must be woven into a police organization. She recognizes that there are two groups in society: the police and the citizens. To fix this, the police need to involve the community, not just deal with it.
That's not true of most officers. There are many of us in uniform who do care about the communities we police. But most of the time, once an individual sees someone in uniform, they kind of discard who the person is inside and make assumptions. (Qtd. Calhoun) [5]
Policing Tactics are Unjust In 2012, an African American was murdered every 28 hours by either police officers or persons of authority (Hudson). Of this amount, 43% of murders occurred as a result of racial profiling (Hudson). Police officers are tasked with the duty of protecting people across the nation; however, in a time of urgency, officers are instead harming the people. Although some believe police are behaving in a justified manner, the unnecessary brutality and racial profiling is caused by an inherent belief of white superiority and an internal fear of African Americans.
Police officers that patrol a community are more approachable. Citizens feel more comfortable getting information from a friendly face that they recognize. Community policing that involves citizens via neighborhood watch details can help to educate citizens on crime prevention and reporting.

The difference is that private police cost less to have doing the work but overtime this is changing private police in some specialties actually have better salaries than in the past. But in some case most private police like security guards they don't get taken seriously by people.
In addition, adversaries claim that violence used by the police promotes violence in the community. As a result of escalated brutality, it is critical for police departments to gain the support of citizens to alter their perception of specialized police units. Plain and simply put, if the community can’t trust law enforcement, then when law enforcement does something that looks even remotely out of line, the community’s perspective of them will get worse. Another thing I learned, was that many people hate all law enforcement because they had one bad encounter with an officer. From an educated perspective it seems unfair and even laughable that this would be the case, but the proof was real. One bad encounter with law enforcement and that person can correlate it to every law enforcement officer they ever encounter again. The strongest answer I found to the negative association with police officers was media manipulation for ratings.

According those in favor of community policing, there are certain characteristics about this practice that make it a good crime fighting strategy; one of those is characteristics is called community partnership. Community partnership, to some experts, is one of the most effective ways to fight crime and reduce the deterioration of communities because it creates a trustful association between police and the community. The idea behind community partnership is that having a close relationship with the community allows police to access information that otherwise would be difficult to acquire (Walker & Katz, 2011). In all honesty, nowadays it is extremely difficult for the community to trust police officers. As mentioned before, with all the recent cases of police brutality and the killings of unarmed civilians the community is kind of hesitant in trusting its police; however, building a strong partnership could be tremendously beneficial, not only for the police, but for everyone in a specific community because it can help solve crimes and at the time rebuild an already deteriorated relationship.
Since we all know that effective community policing involves trust and good relations within the community to prevent and combat crime why not have counter terrorism tactics training as a bonus for the Police. Why not right? Law Enforcement already have relationships among many communities such as Muslim communities in New York for example. The thought of having an extra task force within the department can be crucial and can be needed to prevent massive casualties such as 9/11 including an extra eye on what to look out for that involves preventing terrorism. Given the Pros of the situation, most police officers already have post military experience and skill assets such as weaponry, foreign language, hostage negotiator, undercover skills and so forth which are all prime examples of an already strong foundation that can become increasingly durable with additional
Some departments train the patrol officers and but not the supervisors. The Chicago Police Department had problems with the hierarchy in accepting community policing training (Skogan & Hartnett, 1997). Without support from the high ranks of the department, there is limited ability for community policing to be properly implemented.
The thought and work of Martin Luther was part of this religious movement called the Protestant Reformation, which ended with ecclesiastical, religious and political supremacy of the Church of Rome creating European Protestant churches of different denominations.
