Dictatorship is actually far more negative than positive in the long run. This is revealed by perceiving changes made from the past. Dictatorship dates all the way back to 138 BC. This form of government began in the times of the ancient Romans, with Aulus Postumius Albinus. Each dictator was only allowed to last six months then, since it was impossible to refuse the dictator’s demands. Unfortunately, the downfall of this requirement lead to horrific events. Dictators are controversial because of their desire to seize power. Although this is not guaranteed with every dictator, most observed in past events have been known to choose their country over the needs of the people.
