To many people, Gun Control is not one issue, but many. To some Americans it is a rights issue, and to others it is a crime issue. Legal measures to license or restrict the ownership of firearms by members of the public is Gun Control. However, dose ownership with stricter controls reduce violent crimes, are Gun Control Laws Constitutional, and do guns protect women? Within each of these issues there are those who want more gun control and those who want less. Laws and regulations have been passed for the use of firearms, and regulations to the right of individuals to possess the use firearms.
Americans are shot every year; fire arms are increasingly amplifying violence. “There are an estimated 280 million to 300 million guns in private hands in America many legally owned...” (Goldberg). The access to weapons in the United States is effortless. Gun-shows are the easiest places to get a gun. Gun show loopholes refer to private sellers at gun shows not being required to perform a background check on record. Background checks aren’t required for any gun show purchases. If there was a more complicated way such as Criminal background checks like licensed gun shops conduct. Licensed Gun shops have stopped many people from buying weapons because of background checks. Concealed-carry permits should also be granted to people who only pass a strict criminal background check, as well as go through a punctilious training and safety course. If more people were trained about gun safety, less gun violence would accrue. Having Americans trained effectively to respond to certain situations like a Police Officer instead of just shooting them dead, they would be seeking a better option.
