“To conquer a nation, first disarm its citizens.” Adolf Hitler said this and look what he did to Germany and other parts of the world. Is this what our government trying to do with gun control? Guns are lethal weapons, and some people are scared of that, but just because you don’t like something, doesn’t mean that no one else should have it. Gun control should not be accepted because the second amendment gives us the right to bear arms and if people were taught gun safety, instead of being told to just stay away from guns, their wouldn’t be as many deaths or injuries. Parents should keep guns out of young children’s reach and locked up away from older kids, and they will if they are educated, and know what a gun can do. In the same article as above it states, “In some schools ‘Eddie the Eagle’ teaches kids about gun safety.” This helps kids learn to be careful around guns and to tell an adult when they see one. If kids are explained to at a young age that they need to be careful around guns, then they are more likely to be careful around them and not point guns at people. However when the situation is actually analyzed, some of the people who wrote the constitution and the amendments did not interpret it this way. They saw it as everyone's right to bear arms and not as restricted to military only. People also say that if little kids learn about this, then they will be tempted to use it. “Children are naturally curious and impulsive and we have shown time and again that we cannot ‘gun proof’ them with education,” “Teaching Children Gun Safety is not Effective” (School Safety, 2016). Nevertheless other people say that if you teach them about safety they are less likely to harm anyone, on purpose or incidentally, in the future. Lastly, there are people that say that there is a lot of gun violence in America. An article states, “The number of fatal gunshot injuries between 1999 and 2005 increased overall, from 28,874 to 30,694,” “Gun Related Injuries and Fatalities” (Gun Control: Restricting Rights). Though people are killed every year, the media exaggerates. In the article “Preface to ‘Gun Control’” it states, “Gun advocates accuse the media of exaggerating the extent of gun violence in order to gain support for gun control
