The well-known organizations, such as United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and Red Cross, have advantages over the BGC and other smaller ones, for they have the capabilities and resources to compete against other competitor organizations.
I think that Canada should try to retain its peacekeeping role. In the past years, Canada has been putting a lot more money and resources into fighting the war in Afghanistan, while they could have been investing in peacekeeping missions (Shephard). Canada should decrease its involvement in violent missions and increase their involvement in peacekeeping missions. They have participated in both in the past (Dyck 207). However, recently, under the leadership of the Harper government, they have primarily been engaging in violent missions (Harper).

The authors claim that because governments allows for such an unequal balance of wealth to exist it requires philanthropies to exist.
In Barry’s final argument he claims that Singer’s drowning child hypothetical cannot extend to international aid because it does not account for situations where the aid would not relieve impoverished countries. The premises of Barry’s argument are as follows. First, historically, aid has been ineffective and wasteful due to poor organization. Barry concludes that aid should not be withheld but should be better organized and made more appropriate in relation to what the impoverished country needs. Second, Barry notes that others have argued better aid might result in a population increase which in turn would prolong suffering in countries that already cannot support their citizens.

Article 2(4) of the United Nations Charter states that, "all member states shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, nor in any manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United Nations” . It is therefore a unilateral agreement signed by member states against the use of force when dealing each other. World events however since the signing and ratification of the UN Charter have indicated that states who are signatories to the charter continue to use force against each other for various reasons. Some 25 years after the writing and ratification of the charter one cannot doubt that states have used force and sought to justify it through individual or collective self-defence claims, as well as humanitarian claims in furtherance of national agendas and to increase territory. This council consists of 15 members, 5 Permanent Members – the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia and China – and 10 Non-Permanent Members voted by the UNGA for 2 years term. According to the charter, the responsibility of UNSC is to maintain international peace and security. It determines the threat to peace and act of aggressor; moreover, it investigates any disputes between the UN Member states. The United Nations Security Council also has the military force to prevent or stop the aggressor.

But teacher tenure as we know may finally come to an end based on a recent court ruling by Los Angeles County Superior Judge Rolf Treu declare that five key job protection law under teacher tenure are unconstitutional because they were proven have a detrimental impact on students fundamental right to equality in education and oftentimes create a disproportionate burden on poor and minority students. The obscene practice of providing substandard teachers with permanent employment regardless of performance has done great harm to our education system since tenure was implemented in California in 1912. Teacher tenure grants rise to teachers to go far beyond the union contract enjoyed by other government workers.
Everyone has challenges that can affect their life and aspirations. I find that it is how one internalizes those challenges, how one pushes through those challenges, and how one learns and grows from those challenges that allows one to overcome those challenges so they do not impede personal growth. While I have had a lot of challenges, one challenge was my distaste for writing. The rules were fluid and the answer was not set which confused me when I was younger. This pushed me to focus more on math, as I enjoyed its fixed rules and formulas.
