Is the american dream still alive and if so is it harder for natural born citizens or immigrants? Do natural born citizens have an advantage over immigrants in achieving the american dream? Immigrants have it harder trying to reach the american dream than natural born citizens do because their backgrounds, lack of education, and because of discrimination. Immigrants have it harder because of their backgrounds. Immigrants have it harder than natural born citizens because unlike natural born citizens that are born with more privileges immigrants do not have as many or any privileges to work with in helping them reach the american dream. This quote is saying he is restricting certain people from entering the country because of what some people of the same place have done in the past. This is significant because the president is discriminating against eastern and western europeans so now immigrants from these countries can not reach the american dream because they are discriminated against for something they might have not done but someone from their country has done in the past. As a result from this it proves that immigrants have the hardest time reaching the american dream because they are discriminated against for something they did not even do just someone from their country has done.
