Legalizing Marijuana, Bad Decision? George Bierson’s article on "Marijuana, the Deceptive Drug". He comes to a conclusion that is this, marijuana is a harmful drug that if not controlled can and will cause massive brain damage and harm to the immune system. George also claims that the drug is also the biggest cause of people continuing to use more and more harmful drugs. Even with studies shown, his point isn’t really made. One of his many claims is of the physical harms of marijuana. He claims that tests on the monkey's brain seem to show evidence of brain damage, but he fails to mention that the tests were later disproved. The monkeys were given higher doses than the average person could use. Claims of damage to both the reproductive system and the immune system are again based on irrelevant experiments of nearly lethal doses administered to other animals, not humans. Several studies of the effects of marijuana on the human reproductive and immune systems have failed to demonstrate harmful effects. …show more content…
