Do you smoke marijuana? Weed, Maryjane, ganja, herb. That’s great! So, does about 30

million other Americans. You would think with about 30 million Americans that smoke (Ossola).

Marijuana, it would be legal. Wrong! This plant that grows in the ground with a little water and

sunlight, is classified as an illegal drug by federal law. Marijuana comes from the Indian hemp

plant, and the part that contains the “drug” is found primarily in the flowers (commonly called

the “buds”) and much less in the seeds, leaves, and stems of plants. Marijuana, when sold, is a

mixture of dried out leaves, stems, flowers and seeds of the hemp plant. It is usually green,

compared the potential of death from the typical, recreational use of 10 drugs: marijuana,

alcohol, tobacco, heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, methamphetamine, diazepam, amphetamine and

methadone. Marijuana was, by far, found to be the safest, even when compared to alcohol and

excessive alcohol poisoning account for more the 2,000 American deaths every year. Meanwhile,

most say there had never been a documented overdose death from marijuana use in someone
