The tyranny of time began about a hundred years ago. Before that though people would follow the sun and when it rose they got up and when it set the settled down. Because they didn’t know what time it was they would just work until they were done, which was the majority of the day. A few things that sped up people’s knowledge of time was the telegraph, telephone, and railroads and the creation of time zones. A science-fiction writer in 1983 saw something important in it and made up a civilization on Mars where people were payed with units of time instead of money.

A change or development in any given field of technology is pretty much unavoidable. The upgrades and the resistance to the change is a quite a common and a natural phenomenon in today’s world of fast paced advancements. All the development is seen in areas of the use of robotics. It’s being used all the way from an automobile manufacturing plant to very intense surgeries of human beings. So talking of these developments even the NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) is no different than the rest.
Throughout the month of reading The Martian, although it is a fiction story, I have noticed some common things happening with the book and both the MarsOne and NASA plans. While Mark Watney was on Mars, they had multiple television shows going on to keep people up to date, this was a similar plan to that of MarsOne. They wanted to have a reality television show to document and help pay for the whole trip. Also, NASA must still convince lawmakers and the government to pay for their plan. Those trying to save Watney were constantly trying to convince the government to give them more money to pay for it as well.

Moving is hard for people, you won’t get to see your friends, your family, but the biggest problem is that people are moving to another planet! Mars One is a company that is sending people to Mars in the year 2026. Sending people to Mars is insane and dangerous. It cost billions of dollars and you don’t know what space is capable of. Mars is a different environment than Earth.
Could there be more than just life on earth? Many scientists believe that the Milky Way harbors billions of planets that bare liquid water in all living things. Aliens do exist because of NASA money spent on exploration and sightings and abductions. NASA scientists believe that they can provide more scientific explanations. The University of California at Berkeley in Stephen Hawking have spent millions of dollars on research of aliens’ life.
For centuries, the human race has been obsessed with finding even the smallests traces of alien life. While scientists have found slight hints of it, alien life has yet to be discovered. We have no clue what aliens’ true purposes are for the human race and if they even know we exist. What will your reaction be, let alone an alien’s reaction to us and how can we be so sure that we will have a positive reaction if we don’t really know about aliens? We should base our reactions on actual proof instead of speculation.

All these possibilities point to humans going to Mars in the next few decades.

In our day and age, aliens are known as the ugly, monstrous creatures in movies, but in reality, we barely even know what they look like. We have identified signals from solar systems such as HD 164595 found by Russian astronomers and a massive lead on a signal from a civilization far more advanced than our own.
Whether anthropogenic intervention is good or bad, it is about understanding or natural environment and what is best for it. In order to understand what is best for it, we need to establish a connection with our natural environment. As Callicot states, “we can, quite apart from the vagaries of personal preference, pronounce some changes imposed on nature to be objectively good and others objectively bad”. While this is true, the extent to which we have utilised science and technology, most anthropogenic change to nature is unacceptable. It is undeniable that most of what humans impose on nature is destructive.
