Boston 1777 during the revolutionary war there was three sides the patriots,loyalists, and the neutrals. If I was in 1777 during the war I would have been on the patriots side. In June of 1775, 2,400 British soldiers met 1,600 militia members at Breed 's Hill. While the battle took place at Breed 's Hill, it 's famously called the Battle of Bunker Hill. In the middle of the night the militia members quietly set up at at Breed 's Hill. This forced the British to battle uphill. While it seems like the colonists had all the advantages, they ended up losing because they were extremely low on ammunition.
First of all, the battle of long island began on August 27th, 1776, was the largest battle of the revolutionary war. It was the first major struggle that happened after the Declaration of Independence. The battle of long island was in the southwestern part of Brooklyn, New York. During the battle, George Washington desperately attempts to save his army save; however, due to the fog and rain, making it hard for him and his army to see as he tries to cross the east river to Manhattan, but by the time he arrived his army banished. The battle of long island relates to the battle of Valley Forge because both battles suffered from horrible conditions that contributed to the loss of soldiers and shown that both sides of the battle would not be easy

During the Second Battle of Ypres is where the Canadians were first recognized as a contender in wars and that they were worthy. Had the Germans gotten through Ypres and continued southward, they would have defeated more than fifty thousand British and Canadian troops and as a result, would have removed the salient.
The Battle/Siege of Vicksburg The Battle of Vicksburg was one of the most crucial points in the Civil War. It helped Eradicate the Rebels/Confederacy once and for all. The Civil War was fought for over 4 years and it lasted from 1861-1865. It was one of the most horrific wars the world has ever known and witnessed.
Battle of Camden The battle of Camden fought on august 16th 1780 during the revolutionary war, Reasons for the British for attacking Camden were varied depending on opinions and notes. From that point on there were many reasons for the attack but the main one could definitely be that the British needed Camden for personal gain. General Horatio gates (the leader of the defensive militia) was assigned to take back north, Carolina with men who were not mentally or physically trained, since they weren't, they were demolished about 2,000 - 3,000 British to Camden. The last of the colonists were imprisoned or killed.
Known as the bloodiest single-day battle in American History, the Battle of Antietam took place at Antietam creek in Maryland. Strategic plan unveiled and outnumbered, things didn’t start off smoothly for General Robert E. Lee and the Confederate army; yet, even with a copy of the enemy’s plan and a two-to-one advantage, did things work out for Union! With one side disadvantaged and the other wasting their advantages, the battle stayed undecided for hours- that is until violent attacks to General Lee’s troop had the Confederate army retreating. Although, the Battle of Antietam does not have a clear victorious side, the Union declared it as a victory and used the victory to justify the “Emancipation Proclamation”
The First Battle of Fort Sumter began on April 12, 1861, when Confederate artillery fired on the Union garrison. These were the first shots of the war and continued all day, watched by many civilians in a celebratory spirit. The fort had been cut off from its supply line and surrendered the next day. The Second Battle of Fort Sumter (September 8, 1863) was a failed attempt by the Union to retake the fort, dogged by a rivalry between army and navy commanders. Although the fort was reduced to rubble, it remained in Confederate hands until it was evacuated as General Sherman marched through South Carolina in February 1865.
Many tragedies and battles were encountered during the civil war, and each event brought value to the nation's future. Just as with any battle, Fredericksburg left a damaging and valuable impact on the Civil War. It left many Americans devastated by the many lives that were lost during the combat. Fredericksburg was part of the turning point of the civil war. Both the Union and the Confederates were affected either negatively or positively on the outcome of the battle's results.
Revolutionary War Response It all began with “the shot heard round the world,” also known as the shot that was fired at Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts on April 19th, 1775. This signaled the start of the American Revolution. However, another factor that led up to the battles were the lack of civil liberties and the efforts to regain them by the colonist. A combination of different conflicts that arose between Great Britain and the thirteen colonies resulted in battles fought for independence, and equal rights amongst all of the people.
The Battle of Pea Ridge was between the Union and Confederate armies, and they fought for two days straight near a highland which was known as Pea Ridge. The Union was under the control of General Curtis and was successful in regaining their land that they lost to the Confederates. Both forces suffered losses and even general lost their lives in the battle. “Confederates suffered 2,000 casualties, including General McCulloch, Brigadier General James McQueen Mclntosh, and Brigadier General William Slack” (Civil War Timeline).
Did you know that most major Battles of the Civil War were draws? Although the Battle of Antietam was considered a draw, it still gave the Union army a large advantage. Along with the Battle of Antietam, the Battle of Gettysburg was almost a draw, but the Union took the win. Later in the war, a General named Tecumseh Sherman thought that by destroying the southern infrastructure, he would revoke the south of its morale, and its ability to fight. A major theme of the Civil War was war was terrible, as supported by Battles of Antietam, Gettysburg, and General Sherman’s Total War.
Despite their loss, the inexperienced colonial forces inflicted considerable casualties against the invading British, and the battle provided them with an important confidence boost.
