Is welfare something that should be available to everyone? Who should have the authority to allow people to have welfare? These are questions that have people distraught. There are always benefits and disadvantages to everything. Many people believe welfare should not be available to everyone, but there are also many people that believe it should be. The people who are supporters of welfare look to get the tax money in order to support the work program efforts (Magoon 75). In certain circumstances, welfare is needed. This includes people with disabilities or the elderly.

The qualifications for welfare have been discussed throughout many years, between local governments and federal governments. These governments communicate with each other to make sure there are no misunderstandings (Magoon 17). All presidents have some of the same beliefs about the local governments and the federal governments. Some believe the federal governments should have less power over the welfare process and some believe the opposite. In many ways, welfare has changed throughout the years. In this occasion, there are people who believe welfare should be easy to get and then there are the people who believe it should be more difficult to get. The people that believe that welfare should be easy to get are also the people who don't want to work for a living and want everything handed to them. These can be anywhere from drug addicts to runaway teens trying to make it on their own. In twenty-four hours, around three thousand teens will run away from their homes (Krohn 7). Out of those three thousand teens, some will end up in gangs that get dragged into selling drugs to make it by. Some will end up becoming pregnant and then the others might fail at finding jobs and live on the streets and die by the time they are twenty years
