Is Polygamy okay? Polygamy is a sexist and dangerous practice. Women and children who think about leaving do not because they have family they do not want to leave. Polygamist believe polygamy brings “higher rank” and ”power” in heaven(Shoshana). “practicing polygamy can quadruple a person's risk for coronary artery disease(Justin). Mentally and emotionally polygamy can be harmful. Polygamy can be unfair,unhealthy and dangerous.
Polygamy can be unfair to the wives and children involved. In a polygamous society the men are allowed to have multiple wives but the women can have only one husband,she has to share(shoshana)“Probably the worst part of the whole theology,”she said, ”is the treatment of women and teaching women that they are not equal to men.”(Hammon).
Women are used as “baby makers” so that men can gain power and authority.”Girls run away from home because they are forced to marry older men they either do not know or are related to”(Stephanie). The men are basically take advantage of young girls and women.

Its their life and no one is hurt from this. other are allowed to practice their religion so polygamy should be legal. It is their right to practice their religion. If women do not want to be in polygamy they do not have to. Religion is a thing you can chose to practice. Any one who no longer wants to be in polygamy do not have to. In the eyes of polygamist God will love them more if they have multiple wives and many children.
