Meucci, Sandra. (2010). Antonio and the electric scream: The man who invented the telephone. Boston, MA: Branden. Antonio Meucci was born and grew up in Italy. He immigrated to America and work with the Italian Opera Company.
The telephone was created by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876. Bell says, “it has revolutionized communications throughout the United States, Britain and the World.” This invention literally changed humanity forever, it revolutionized the way people pass on information. Anywhere from a household to the battlefields, this invention affected so many lives. The steam engine was (re)invented by James Watt in 1769.
Inventors created new product including services. For example, from the textbook, Alexander Graham Bell; his father, Melville; and friend Reverend Thomas Henderson started basic short-distance telephone service between office buildings and warehouses in 1877. The company later became Bell Canada Inc. (Boone, L. E., Kurtz, D. L., Khan, M. H., & Canzer, B. M. (2012).

Having a portable cell phone was a luxury that didn’t become common until the 1990s and was used mostly for business reasons.
In the world today, people are more focused on their cell phones and other technology than the world outside of them. Technology has given us many new things to make things in life much easier. A cell phone allows for people to contact others from almost anywhere in the world. This is something people would have never thought would be possible. Although cell phones are very nice they can distract people from the world around them and the things it has to offer.

The average American spends 4 years of their life on their phone, that number was obviously way lower in the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s. The invention of the telegraph did not impact our lives more than the cellphone because the telephone was used in the 1880s only for local calling, but with the development in the 1890s of “long lines,” the telephone offered increased competition to the telegraph. Alexander Graham Bell patented the telephone in 1876, initially referring to it as a “talking telegraph.” The invention of the telephone changed the world forever because now you are able to call or send text messages to someone. When you send a message from the telegraph, it may get displaced. “Due to the complexity of the production process, messages were also often lost, with no firm taking responsibility for the mistransmission.”

It gives us a chance of having access to different ability like keeping in touch with our family members, businesses relationships and more while we are in different places. However before the use of cell phone, people had desperate needs of mobile communication, so they had installed radiotelephones in their car. It was not effective and inconvenient to use, the main reason was the size, which was too big, and the use of phone was limited because it requires a powerful transmitter.
Everyone was in need for this invention, so the scientist’s development the telephone to the cell phone. Martin Cooper is the first inventor of the mobile phone in 1973. Because of the development of technology, cell phones are not used just for calling, but also for texting, working, playing, serving the internet, and many other things. Because of these features, the use of cell phone has become increasing. Cell phones changed the life to become easier for people and they have many causes to use it daily, such as informing about emergency situations, keeping in touch with people, and managing the work.
