In Hawaiian Haleakala means “House of the sun.” Haleakala National Park is located in the island of Maui, Hawaii. “Maui’s two eroded volcanoes, Haleakala and West Maui, were once part of a large volcanic massif made up of six major volcanoes. The central idea of “Mount Vesuvius: Day of Disaster” is about the destruction Mount Vesuvius left on the city of Pompeii in 79 A.D. and the challenges the citizens who lived there faced. The article details that Mount Vesuvius erupted without warning to the townspeople. Although, there were signs of an eruption people didn’t have the advancement to understand them. People ran from their homes to escape the poisonous gasses floating in the air and ran for their lives as the pumice chased behind them. The fortunate ones who made it out were left with nothing but the clothes on their back, while the not so lucky ones were buried alive under the incinerating lava.

I went and did that my drive way was really long so it took me about a minute to get it to the curb. On my way back I heard a scream like I had never heard before. The sound hit me like a bullet.

We all panicked at the mess we made and scrambled around the basement to clean it up. I took a bottle of dish detergent and poured it all over my basement floor. Gabby came running in with paper towels but spilled and fell because of all the soap. It was such a funny thing, seeing her fall.
Mauna Loa, one of Hawaii’s many volcanoes, can affect Hawaii’s economy positively and negatively. On a positive note, Mauna Loa can provide rich, fertile soil for farming. According to Dictionary.com, uniqueness means it’s “existing as the only one or as the sole example; single; solitary in type or characteristics, or having no like or equal; unparalleled; incomparable.” Each place is unique in its own way. Some people compare countries alike but really there’s always one thing that distinguishes them from each other. One place on earth that is unique is the state of Hawai’i, from the highest peaks of the mountains to every little grain on the sandy seashores.

I begin to get frightened as I turn the corner to a fogged out jail, seeing prisoners banging on the cells, and trying to touch us, but as I turn the next corner, a prisoner comes out of nowhere, and scares me out of my shoes. I fell straight to the ground in shock. My heart suddenly just dropped in fear. My parents began to start laughing hysterically because of my fear. Thankfully, I was able to make it out alive and well, but I was definitely shaken up.
Costa Rica is beautiful small country. However, it can sometimes be a scary place. Earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides and flooding are all too common for such a small place. Costa Rica lies between the Pacific and Atlantic ocean so one would expect extreme weather such as hurricanes to happen often but that is not the case. Although it rains from May to November, only September and October typically bring the tropical thunderstorms.
We start to walk out of the Great hall and we head outside and we find our brother and we were so thankful that he made it he didn’t have anything wrong with him. And then we went on a train to go look for a little house that has to bedrooms and one bath and one livingroom and one little kitchen. We had all of our stuff and the lady was asking for 40$ for the place and my father and mother were like ok we will take it. And we went in and there was just the first floor and a basement but the basement was small. And then my mother was like you to have to do the laundry
