Theodore Kaczynski, better known as the Unabomber, is responsible for the many homemade bombs that were sent and exploded at Universities and Airlines for over 15 years. Ted was born on May 22, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. He was extremely intelligent at a very young age and was able to enter Harvard on a scholarship at the age of 16. Laternon in his life, he worked at the University of California, Berkeley, where he didn't quite enjoy his time teaching and didn't seem to fit in. So, he decided to move into a cabin in Montana away from the city life. This is where he made many of his bombs and where he lived in during the time of the bombings. Due to his extreme intellect and the way of doing things, the FBI had a hard time capturing him. The doctors couldn’t quite figure out what is condition was so they minimized contact and kept a close eye on him. In an article titled Ted Kaczynski: Evil man, or tortured soul? written by Paul Ferguson, it mentioned that “He was pinned down in a spread-eagle position for an examination. Someone in the hospital took a photograph to record the baby's symptoms. It showed an infant's eyes brimming with terror.” As a baby, everything is new and it is hard to understand what is being done and the motives behind many of those things. It could be quite frightening and traumatizing being separated from everyone without knowing what was going on, especially at his age. Also, in an article titled The Effects of Isolation on a Child's Social Development written by Kristen Moutria “Children who are isolated as infants often develop disturbing behavior and have trouble connecting with their peers”. This goes to show how much of a mental toll isolation as an infant can take on that individual and how it can affect them for the rest of their
