Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt, the 26th president of the United States. He is one of the most famous presidents in history due to the “strenuous” life he lived and his many accomplishments during his term in office. He demonstrates qualifies of a Servant Leader, a Transformational Leader and the Leader Membership Exchange Theory. Theodore Roosevelt believed that anyone could be an effective leader, becoming one is an ongoing process. Theodore Roosevelt once said “If I have anything at all resembling genius, it is in the gift for leadership…. Theodore Roosevelt possesses the inspirational motivation that allows him to gain a high acceptance rate from the citizens of the United States. He also had a great vision for the future. He demonstrated this trait in the speech at battle of San Juan Hill, “Gentlemen, the Almighty God and the Just Cause are with you. Gentlemen, CHARGE!!”. Theodore Roosevelt put his Rough Riders team before himself during the Spanish American War when he placed himself in in the front line of danger; “No man has a right to ask or accept any service unless under changed conditions he would feel that he could keep his entire self-respect while rendering.”. He also believed that leaders must be highly educated and be willing to keep learning; “As soon as any man has ceased to be able to learn, his usefulness as a teacher is at an end. When he himself can’t learn, he has reached the stage where other people can’t learn from
