Infrastructure is the organizational structures
In the article, “When Wheelchairs Are Cool”, the author, Ben Mattlin discusses why he believes it is okay for able bodied people to ride around in wheelchairs and take on the look of a disabled person, but it is not okay if you are making fun of disabled people. It is also not acceptable for people that are bound to wheelchairs to take advantage of able bodied people’s sympathy for their situation whether it be through accepting free things or getting a discount. The main strategy Mattlin uses to persuade his reader is pathos, particularly humor which creates a light tone throughout the article. Also, Mattlin proves his credibility and proves his point by planning the time at which he published his article. Mattlin’s main claim in his article is that being in a wheelchair is not as bad as it seems.
“2.2 million people in the United States depend on a wheelchair for day-to-day tasks and mobility. 6.5 million people use a cane, a walker, or crutches to assist with their mobility”. Every single day, people varying in ages, struggle to live their lives due to conditions out of their control. Whether it be life threatening or not, it can have effects that are both socially and emotionally harming. Although some of them may change appearances on the outside, other people cannot forget that all people, not matter the disability, have brains and personalities of their own that may not be seen to the human eye.
The novel The House On Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros was a fictional novel written in 1984. This novel shows the struggle of a young girl named Esperanza who was trying to mature to quick. Esperanza is a twelve year old girl who began to lose her innocence because she was trying to mature before she was meant to. The main conflict was Esperanza began to act like an adult, but yet she was still just a young girl, and because of her actions she experienced a loss of innocence. Through the use of syntax, Cisneros portrays the message that trying to mature too early will result in loss of innocence.
Organization was used since the beginning when we did storyboards. Each slide does something, and almost all of them rely on the information presented before the slide before it. Organization has the ride effect, and it contributes to the success of the text because it allows it to guide the audience through the information. The final intended concept I used was alignment.
Organization can help people plan precisely when and where they want things to happen. When organizing, timing is crucial. That is why when the suffragists planned to have a parade, they planned to do it the day when President Woodrow Wilson came in. In this parade, the goal was to get publicity, and boy, did they (van Garnier). Another example of when organization was crucial was when Anthony decided to vote, she wanted to bring her family as well.
Every organization needs a certain structure to keep things running smoothly. The structure outlines how the group works, how members are accepted, who holds leadership positions, and how decisions are made. It also helps give the group a sense of identity and order and gives members a set of guidelines to follow. The structure is an essential part of any organization, so it is important for companies to choose the one that fits the group's goals and members (Chapter 9. Developing an Organizational Structure for the Initiative | Section 1.

A thesis statement is the main argument of your essay. Your thesis statement should be an argument you feel you can substantiate with evidence from the literature you've read. If you can't do this, choose a different thesis statement. Note that an essay is not a book report. Therefore, your thesis statement should not be something inarguable, like: "Romeo and Juliet is a play about the struggles of two lovers fated to be apart.
The different type of structures (1) Functional – each portion of the organisation is grouped according to its purpose. (2) Matrix - ‘’ creates project teams that cut across traditional functional departments, instead of highlighting the role or status of individuals, it gathers together a team of specialists with the objective of completing a task or a project successfully ‘’ . (3) Divisional – It is the grouping of workers on the basis of products being produced, followed by the functional structure. There are two types of divisional structure , (a) Product structure (b) Process structure (4) Geographical – It is the grouping of workers on the basis of regions, followed by the functional structure and , (5) Hierarchical structure which has been adopted by Ritz Carlton. It shows the different levels of hierarchy, span of control and chain of command.
1. Introduction to Organisational Structures The Organizational Structure within a company determines the way in which an organization’s operational activities are performed. Some of the main operations defined within an organizational structure include the allocation, supervision, and coordination of how a project is to be completed. The organizational structure will determine how tasks are performed during a project and who the tasks are to be performed by. The organizational structure also states who will manage or oversee the project and the processes or protocols that will be implemented during the time frame of that particular project.
It acts as an operating manual that defines the way the jobs are distributed and how individuals interact within the company to achieve their goals (Distelzweig, 2004). A detailed study on organizational structure relates organizational structure to the way information flows through the hierarchical arrangement. There are basically two types of organizational structure; centralized and decentralized. In a centralized system the highest layer of hierarchy is responsible for decision making and controlling departments and division.
In organization, there should be established system to achieve the task and there should be relationship between system and task of the organization (McNamra,
The two key topics in class in the last weeks, for me. Two of the most relevant topics developed in the last weeks were: non-verbal communication and the barriers to communication. Everytime we communicate with another person or group of people, we have to take into account some factors other than what we are actually saying that can affect how the message is going to be received: body language, tone, intonation, facial expressions, and others; this is what we understand for non-verbal communication. As we saw in class “55% of communication is body language, 38% is the tone of voice, and 7% is the actual words spoken.”
In society today, communication classes are highly over looked because of our new developing technology. People don’t realize how much a communication class could benefit them. We have lost sight of verbal communication skills. This class has taught me to put my phone down and communicate with others. It has opened my eyes to the real world without technology.
